A delivered vessel alongside at Benoa

There is no single mega shipyard in Bali

What the island actually offers is a working network: sheltered water at Benoa, small yards at Serangan, and design offices in Denpasar.

Any company implying otherwise is overselling

Bali Yacht Builder is the client facing arm of the Komodo Luxury group, coordinating that network so an owner deals with one team.

For wooden vessels above roughly 20 metres the hull is built where the skills live, at the group yards in South Sulawesi. Composite and smaller builds can be laminated closer to Bali.

Either way, fit out, systems installation, survey and sea trials are managed from the Bali side.

Three families

What the yards build in

We are honest about where each material is genuinely strong.

An ironwood and teak hull

Marine hardwood

Traditional hulls

Ulin below the waterline, teak for decks and joinery.

A composite catamaran

Composite

Cats and motor yachts

Fiberglass construction, with vacuum infusion for weight critical builds.

Aluminium

Through partners

One off work here. Series aluminium sits in the Batam industrial yards, and we say so.

From Sulawesi slipway to Bali fit out

Owners visit the hull during construction. Flights from Bali make supervision practical.

  1. Design

Three to four months of engineering in Denpasar before anything is cut.

  2. Keel

Laid in Sulawesi for hardwood, or near Bali for composite.

  3. Hull

Construction with owner inspection visits timed to the stage.

  4. Delivery

The vessel sails or is shipped to Benoa or Labuan Bajo.

  5. Fit out

Engines, electrical, interior and rig installed and commissioned.

  6. Handover

    Survey, sea trials and documentation.

Roughly 10 to 14 months for smaller vessels and 18 to 30 months for 30m and above.

What a build costs through the network

Start with the specification, not the yard.

A new phinisi
USD 600k to 1.2M
30m to 40m luxury build
USD 1.8 to 3M
45m and above
USD 4 to 8M

Planning ranges in USD, not quotes. Final pricing follows the design brief and specification.
