A delivered vessel alongside at Benoa

Three days to see whether this is real

A short working visit to Denpasar, Benoa and Serangan. You walk the berths, meet the people who would run your build, and leave with a written scope.

A working visit, not a tour

Three days is enough to judge a yard and settle a specification. It is not enough to reach Sulawesi, so the hull yards wait for the seven day programme.

You meet the naval architect, the project manager who would hold your file, and the yard foreman. Every meeting happens where the work happens.

There is no showroom. You see whatever is genuinely on the hard that week, including boats belonging to other owners where they agree to it.

Three days, in order

Arrival and departure at Ngurah Rai. Transfers between sites are handled.

  1. The studio brief

Denpasar. You bring how you want to use the boat, we bring drawings, timber samples and honest limits. Two hours, then dinner.

  2. The yards

Benoa fit out berths in the morning, the Serangan small craft yards after lunch. Boats in build, systems bays and the travel lift.

  3. Scope and numbers

A working session on specification, then an indicative range in writing. You fly home with a document rather than an impression.

Tuesday to Thursday works best. A yard is quiet on Sundays, and a quiet yard tells you nothing.

Owners commissioning a hardwood phinisi should take the seven day programme. The hull is built in Sulawesi, and photographs of joinery are no substitute for standing next to it.
