Which classification society do you use?

BKI is standard for Indonesian flagged vessels. RINA or Lloyds Register can be arranged where flag, insurance or resale requires it, agreed before the keel is laid because class drives scantlings from day one.

Is classification mandatory?

Not for every private vessel, and some owners decline it. Flag state safety survey is mandatory on all of them. We put the classification decision in writing either way, with the resale and insurance consequences stated.

Do you handle crew certification?

We handle compliance for the build and the handover, including crew familiarisation. Ongoing crew certification sits with whoever operates the vessel.

Q: What is needed to charter commercially in Indonesia?

An Indonesian flagged vessel under cabotage law, normally owned through a company with foreign shareholding capped at 49 percent for shipping, plus SIUPAL licensing. We plan it during design rather than after handover.
