Regulatory & Classification Bodies

Compliance is the foundation of every build. We work in close collaboration with key authorities, including Indonesia’s Directorate General of Sea Transportation (Hubla), to manage all necessary certifications, from the initial Tonnage Certificate (Surat Ukur) to the final Certificate of Registry (Grosse Akta).

• Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut (Directorate General of Sea Transportation): The primary maritime authority in Indonesia. We liaise with them for all vessel registration, flagging, and operational licensing (SIUPAL), including managing voyage-specific clearances like the Surat Persetujuan Berlayar (Port Clearance).
• Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI): Indonesia’s national classification society. We build our vessels to BKI class standards, a prerequisite for commercial charter licensing and insurance. This ensures they meet stringent requirements for structural integrity and safety, and are designed to pass mandatory 5-year surveys. We can also build to other IACS member standards (e.g., Lloyd’s Register, RINA) as required.
• Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries): For projects operating in sensitive marine protected areas like Raja Ampat, we consult with KKP to ensure designs and operational plans align with conservation mandates, such as the use of designated mooring buoys to protect coral.
